Frederick Hemke,
(AMusD, University of Wisconsin-Madison, Premier Prix du Saxophone,
Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique, Paris, as student
of Marcel Mule), Professor of Saxophone at the School of Music.
Hemke is an internationally recognized adjudicator, master teacher,
and soloist. He performed worldwide as recitalist and with orchestras
and wind ensembles. He recorded with Chicago Symphony Orchestra,
Kronos Quartet, Stockholm Philharmonic, Eastman Wind Ensemble, and
Contemporary Chamber Players as well as solo albums. Hemke is the
Editor of saxophone solos and ensembles and the author of many articles
and educational materials. He is also consultant to Selmer Corporation,
La Voz Corporation, Southern Music Company. Hemke was a Distinguished
Visiting professor at the Conservatoire National Supérieur
de Musique, Paris several times and returned there in November 2001
to give master classes.
