Michael Loriaux

Michael Loriaux
(Ph.D., Princeton University), Associate Professor of Political
Science and Co-Director of the French Interdisciplinary Group. He
specializes in international relations theory, European and French
politics, and international political economy. His interests include
European integration, international monetary relations, and the
philosophical underpinnings of international relations thought.
His books include France After Hegemony: International Change
and Financial Reform and Capital Ungoverned: Liberalizing Finance
in Interventionist States (co-authored). He has recently completed
a book manuscript entitled European Union: Myth and Deconstruction
of the Rhineland Frontier (under contract with Princeton
University Press). Loriaux served twice as co-director of the Northwestern
Summer program in Arles. He has taught at Sciences Po (he is also
a graduate) and is currently teaching in the Northwestern program
on the European Union at Sciences Po.
