Kenneth R. Poeppelmeier
(PhD, Iowa State University), Dow Professor of Chemistry and Associate
Director of Science and Technology Center for Superconductivity
(STCS). His research concerns the development of new ways of synthesizing
novel and technically interesting inorganic solid-state compounds.
He is Associate Editor, Inorganic Chemistry and serves on
the Editorial Board of Journal of Alloys and Compounds, CHEMtracks,
Chemistry of Materials, Solid State Sciences. He is
Fellow, Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, American Association
for the Advancement of Science; Chair, American Chemical Society
Division of Inorganic ChemistrySolid-State Chemistry. Since
1996 he has been the leader of a group of faculty at NU engaged
in collaborative research with the laboratoire de Cristallographie
et Sciences de Matériaux (CRISMAT) and Department of Physics
at the Ecole Normale Supérieure (ENS-ESPCI). STCS also carries
out collaborative research with CNRS and the Institut des Sciences,
de la Matière et du Rayonnement (ISMRA) in the areas of superconducting
