Daniel M. Watterson, John
G. Searle Professor of Molecular Pharmacology & Biological
Chemistry; Director, Drug Discovery Program. His research interests
are: Elucidation of the molecular basis of eukaryotic cell regulation
by intracellular signal transduction pathways, especially pathways
mediated by calmodulin and calmodulin regulated protein kinases,
and use of this knowledge to discover small molecule ligands
that can modulate cellular responses. Wattersons team in
the Drug Discovery Program has been doing collaborative research
with a team of researchers at the University Louis Pasteur in
Strasbourg for many years. Watterson was also a Visiting Scientist
at the CNRS/INSERM at Montpellier/Marseille between 1992 and
1994.
